Program/Service Spotlight: DADS

senior husband and wife

a young girl an elderly woman and her daughter

The Aging Texas Well (ATW) program helps ensure that Texans—like Jack and Mona—are prepared for aging in all aspects of life and that state and local laws, policies, and services support aging well. This is an example of the type of programs and services DADS has developed to promote and support people over 60 to maintain healthy and independent lives.

Katie’s dad found help for her through the toll-free referral number DADS funds to assist individuals with autism and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), families, community members, educators, and other private-sector professionals and make referrals to available services.

Sarah is confident that her mom is receiving the best care because she lives in a facility licensed through DADS’ licensing, regulation and credentialing of long-term care institutions and agencies.
