Program/Service Spotlight: DFPS

Adult Protective Services (APS) investigates reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation of elderly people, including home equity fraud, telemarketing fraud, and health fraud.

The day-care center that Aril’s daughters attend is licensed by the Child-Care Licensing Division of DFPS. One of the ways this division safeguards the basic health, safety, and well-being of Texas children is by developing and enforcing minimum standards for child-care facilities and child-placement agencies.

Matt’s involvement with Community Youth Development (CYD) helped keep him out of trouble. CYD is a community-based, prevention and early intervention program that provides services to alleviate family and community factors that lead to juvenile delinquency in communities that have a high incidence of juvenile crime.
